​What is the Flats Festival of the Arts ?

Flats East Bank will host Cleveland’s inaugural Flats Festival of the Arts this August! The prestigious event will be the first of its kind at Flats East Bank. 120 juried artists will be joined by more than 100 performing artists at the festival. The work of student artists from the Cleveland School of the Arts will also be exhibited at the show.

The Flats Festival of the Arts will support Cleveland School of the Arts, a specialty arts school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for students grades 8-12, and H.E.L.P., a nonprofit organization devoted to developing a pathway for children living in rural regions of Africa.

 
Is this Festival for all ages?

This is a family friendly event. Ages 12 and under are free.

What is the neighborhood like?

Located on Old River Rd. and W 10th Street the Flats East Bank is home to many different restaurants and entertainment venues.  In addition, this area is home to Aloft Hotel, 241 Luxury apartments and an 18 story Class A office building “EY Tower.”

This event goes on rain or shine.  Passes are good for the entire weekend and can be used for anytime August 19-21.

How were the artists chosen?

Artists who wish to be considered for the Flats Festival of the Arts apply through ZAPPlication™ an online application tool, by submitting four digital images of their work and one image of their booth display.

Our jury panel, selected by the Festival Coordinating Committee, conducts a blind jury process in which jurors review the artists’ images and technical statements without any biographical information about the artists. The top scores, allowing for a balanced show across mediums, are invited to participate in the Festival.

What to expect at the gate?

There will be two locations marked for entry into the festival.  One located on Main Avenue by Coastal Taco and one located on Front Street by Punch Bowl Social. All hard tickets and internet passes will be exchanged there for wristbands into the festival.  Wristbands must be continuously worn for entry into the festival over the three day period.

Friday, August 19                                11:00am to 10:00pm
Saturday, August 20                           11:00am to 10:00pm
Sunday, August 21                              11:00am to 5:00pm

What items are required?

All hard tickets and internet passes will be needed for entry along with a photo ID.

Can I bring a pet into the venue?

Yes, the Flats East Bank is a pet-friendly location. Please be sure to keep pets on leashes.

What happens if I take off my wristband?

Your wristband acts as your three day ticket to the event. If you remove your wristband, you will need to purchase a new pass.

Where do I park?

There is parking located in and around the Flats East Bank in several lots.

How much will parking cost?

Rates vary based on location, self-parking and valet. 

What is the exit and reentry policy?

You can enter and exit the event with your wristband. Since this is a 3 day event, your wristband will function as your ticket for all 3 days.

How do I purchase tickets?

By going through the festival website and clicking on the link "weekend passes"  on this site you will be able to purchase weekend passes.

Can I buy a ticket at the event?

Yes you can. Event passes will cost $12 at the door.

Can I get a refund on the ticket?

All sales are final. 

What types of payment will be accepted by artists and vendors?

Each vendor offers different means of payment, but many will accept cash or credit
